From February 22 to March 2, our scientists will be at the International Agricultural Show to present their research in robotics.

What solutions can robotics offer for sustainable agriculture?

INRAE presents the Roboterrium, a mobile platform dedicated to off-road robotics research for agricultural applications. This "robot vivarium" in natural environments, funded by the French National Research Agency (ANR) through the TIRREX program, explores key topics such as perception in variable environments, cooperation between robots, and interaction with natural elements like soil and plants.

The goal of this infrastructure is to develop agricultural robots adapted to complex terrains, while minimizing soil impact and facilitating human-robot interaction. The Roboterrium follows a collaborative approach, encouraging the sharing of tools and data within the scientific community to accelerate research and overcome specific scientific challenges.

This project is part of the broader Grand Challenge for Agricultural Robotics, which aims to speed up the market introduction of robotic agro-equipment to enable the large-scale adoption of sustainable farming practices.

Beyond robotics, the TSCF unit will also showcase its work on new technologies for agricultural machinery, as well as its research to assess the performance and environmental impact of agro-equipment. It will highlight its innovation and technology transfer efforts through the AgroTEchnoPôle research and innovation platform.
